Clan Discovery Prologue

"Mystery, what´s the matter? You seem to be so far away, so lost in thought."
The young To-Be turned around and looked at her mentor. She was thinking about something very deeply.
"Mountain, what if both have abandoned us? The last sign we had was the sign of me when I became a To-Be. Since then neither of both have spoken a single word to us or Glazestar. She is worried about that fact. Her ancestors never abandon a single cat she said, and neither would the Tribe of Endless Hunting."
The medicine cat let out a soft purr.
"But that doesn´t change anything at all. The Clan never had as many kits as now, and we´re even expecting more. Don´t you think you should act more like a To-Be, Mystery of Unsolved Puzzles?"
"… Maybe, Mountain… maybe. But what if we…"

"Peace, little one. The last sign was clear enough for you to figure out. Something great has been promised to us."
The young To-Be looked down at her feet. There was something she hadn´t told her mentor about that prophecy, and that even was the most important part. She didn´t have the courage to tell her mentor about that part because she feared that she would laugh at her. The medicine cat was wise, for sure, but did she ever have a prophecy like that before? Mystery still feared that she wouldn´t believe her. She threw a quick glance at the place, where the To-Be´s slept. Breeze and Leafbare  were so close to each other, that their fur touched each other´s. It was obvious that those two enjoyed each other´s company. The last To-Be, she was called an apprentice because she wanted to be a warrior; Leaf was sleeping a few mouse-lengths away.
"Oh, what should I do, Mileleaf? I´m sure you said something about a chosen couple of cats that do not walk our path, but what did you mean by that? I beg you, Mileleaf, tell me what to do. …"

As soon as the Medicine Cat apprentice closed her eyes, the pictures of the prophecy came back into her dreams, frightening as they had been when she saw it first.
